DTS distribution - LoadLibrary failed - the specified module could not be found

Hi,

i have a VB.net (2005) application that just runs a DTS package. I tried to install my application in a CLEAN XP computer (it means without any SQL2000 tools or DLLs, ONLY the .net framework 2.0).

When i try to register the dtpkg.dll and all the other dlls using regsvr32.exe i receive the error

"LoadLibrary("C:\program files\myapp\dtspkg.dll) failed - the specified module could not be found".

in C:\Windows\system there is the sqlunirl.dll

In C:\program files\myapp folder i have all the following DLLs:

sqlresld.dll

dtsffile.dll
dtspkg.dll
dtspump.dll
axscphst.dll
dtsrun.exe
sqlunirl.dll
custtask.dll

and in C:\program files\myapp\resources\1033 folder the RLLs

dtsffile.rll
dtspkg.rll
dtspump.rll

custtask.rll

axscphst.rll

dtsrun.rll

I followed step by step all the dts redistribution instructions as explained in this article

http://www.sqldts.com/225.aspx

and in the redist.txt contained in the SQL2000 CD.....

Anybody has ideas?

Thx

mcrisf

I am having the same issue. I followed the steps on the site exactly but I still get the "LoadLibrary("C:\program files\myapp\dtspkg.dll) failed - the specified module could not be found". error. Anyone?|||

Copy required .rll files in the binn\resources\1033 folder.

Make sure sqlresld.dll is present in the binn folder.

DTS and ASP

I am developing a webapplication that should allow users to upload their database by means of a textfile and to integrate that data into an sql table. There will be some logic that deletes duplicates and more.

Trying to make this process as user friendly as possible I would like to allow the user to allocate his fields to the fields in my table.

Is there a way to utilize the transformations process of DTS on an ASP page?

Any ideas on how to achieve this would be highly appreciated.

eWW, SwitzerlandI have never really done anything like this before and I think you will have one he#% of a time making it work... and to be honest I don't think it's possible either. The only way I can think of that probably would work is to tell you users what their field-names should be and in what order. But then again, I'm no expert in this area...|||I wonder, would it be possible to do the actual transformation process outside SQL Server (e.g.) in ASP and to forward the resulting transformation definition by means of parameters to DTS?

You can probably tell, that I am not really familiar with the actual programming end of SQL and would appreciate any cookbook kind of advice as to how to go about and do that.

Best

DTEXEC ReturnCode

Hi,

The DTEXEC Utility has the capability of returning ReturnCodes which have specific meanings e.g.

ReturnCode=3 means: The package was canceled by the user.

Is it possible to set my own ReturnCode values?

For example, my Package contains a Script Task which contains code to search a folder for a file. If the file cannot be found then I make the Script Task fail and hence the Package fails. But, when the Package is invoked by the DTEXEC utility, then the ReturnCode is always set to 1. Is it posssible to set the ReturnCode from within the Package (in, say, a Script Task in the Event Handler) to a different value?

It is necessary to be able to set custom application-specific return codes because these return codes are passed to the Batch Scheduler which alerts Operations (Support) staff in the event of failure. Meaningful (custom) ReturnCodes expedite problem solving and are (usually) mandatory in large production environments.

If it is not possible to make a Package return my own returncodes via DTEXEC then can you suggest alternative solutions, please?

Thanks.

The /CONS option is useful but not the answer. Any Ideas?
